Guest guest
Good question! I used to suffer from constipation constantly (before gallbladder flare and CP diagnosis) and I still occasionally get backed up...but I think now it is from too many pain killers! I have got to the point where I have the runs more often because food runs right thru me. I also seem to have a " cleaning out " before I have an attack...go way more than usual, and about the time I realize this, the pain has already started. I am curious what others have to say about constipation as a symptom... Sorry I can't answer your question...this is just my experience. Hugs, Suzi B. Guest guest
Suzi, that's what happens to me. I usually have constipation unless the pancreas is acting up more than usual and just before I have an attack, I get really bad diarrhea and then it goes back to constipation, usually due to the pain meds. Guest guest
Yeah, this is exactly what happens with me too! My life is identical to what Kimber is talking about! Exactly. Its not a very fun way to live, I just wish I could be " normal " even just every once in awhile, ya know?!?!?! That would be sssssoooooo nice! Guest guest
, I thik I need to clarify something. I now take Darvocet about 2 times a day, sometimes 3. I am thinking of switching to Vicodin for stronger pain relief but from what I took last night, I didn't really get the impression that would hold true. I know if I want to take Darvocet I should take Darvon...however the FNP will only write the script for 30 pills a month where the Darvocet I have is for 60 for a month. I only take the percocet on rare occasions because I have to take a Zanax with that when I do because of side effects of the percocet. I tried a Vicodin last night, and if I were to take that I would ask for Norco instead. I NEVER take those 3 drugs at the same time. But I do the math and I am taking more than my share of tylenol in a months times with the darvocet. My prescription cost is SO high that I cannot afford to pay an extra $20.00 a month for 2 prescriptions of Norco or Darvon (should she decide to refill it that often) so the 60 pills of Darvocet I get a month just about last. I already put out now $140.00 a month for prescriptions and in another month or so when my son's asthma starts up it will raise to $200.00 a month or more. I also pay $900.00 a month just to have medical and then all the co-pays to see a nurse or doctor. AND I have to satisfy a $150.00 deductible a year for each member of the family BEFORE I get a break on the price of meds. So getting what I need for 1 low price is important. Just wanted you to know I do not take all three of those meds at one time. I usually try the Lamaze methode for pain control but as of late, I need pain control help. Sandy in Ca -------------- Original message -------------- The way each of us respond to a pain med is as individual as our eye color. The best way to find a pain med that works for you is by trial and error. However, there is something you said in your post that gives me some concern. You said that you are taking, darvocet, percocet, and vicodan. Each one of those meds contain tylenol. Anywhere from 325mg per pill to 500mg per pill. Taking too much tylenol is liver toxic.
