Hi CJ. Sorry it has taken me so long to write back to you. Its been

a bad week. The head of my pancreas was completely fibrotic. The

doctors never saw that in any scan or ercp it was discovered whe I

had having a transduodenal sphincteroplast. I was send to Cincinatti

about5 moths after that surgery. The surgeon in Cincy turned me down

because I was not sick enough. After that I had what is called a

Beger procedure. It is a whipple that spares the part of the stomach

and intestine. The spleen as well except not everybody who ahas a

whipple has their spleen removed.

Anyway, My main pancreatic duct has some very rapid changes to it.

The duct was stretched out in some places (dilatation) and all skinny

and norrow in other spots (stenosis) there was also clubbing to the

accessory ducts.

The tail of the pancreas does contain most of the islets cellsl

however they can be found elsewhere in the pancreas; just not as

plentiful.

I would have traveled to the end of the world to have that surgery.

Dont think of the distance and traveling as a hinderence. Think of it

as going to any length to find some peace.

I hope this helps and if there is anything else you would like to

know, just ask.

Warmly,
