Guest guest
, This is a condition that I often have and there are a few things that I do to reverse this effect. 1. I have a wedge pillow that I sleep on with two pillows on top of it that help to raise my head AND shoulders above the level of my stomach by 8-12 " . You really need this elevation to help gravitationally to keep that stuff from being able to rise up as easily as it does when you lie flat or on your side. Yeah, I know it suck to have to lie on your back all of the time but it sure beats what seems to be GERD from happening so badly. 2. Gaviscon Extra Strength Liquid is always at my bedside. They tell you not to do this but, when I feel that icky stomach coming on I open that bottle and carefully take a nice Tablesppon sip of it right out of the bottle (most times I just don't have the luxury of waiting!). Be careful not to backwash or it will spoil! Gaviscon is the ONLY antacid that has the viscosity of axle grease to coat that stomach and to stop that surge of acid and stuff in your stomach (of course Gaviscon is nowhere near THAT thick but it works like it is). I swear by this stuff as I have used it now for over 5 years since a doctor told me to use it for the same condition that you describe. Well, I hope that I have made my point and (excuse me a second there, gotta grab that bottle and take a BIG hit right now LOL) that it can work for you too.
