Guest guest
Skip, There is some good news here for you. They really don't take any of your intestine away (seems like your duodenum is already gone, right? If not, they will remove that but they can also try to retain it with a duodenum-saving procedure), they just move it up to the pancreas and then, where it meets the stomach, they resect it to fit. You lose some of the function of it but you don't lose it completely. Since I had my whipple, I have gained vertigo, diabetes, chronic pain (and chronic pancreatitis) from adhesions, the pancreas, and other places, chronic fatigue, disorientation that sometimes results in the most bitchy woman you have ever met, and hell, a whole bunch of other stuff. Not many whipples are very successful. Good luck. Anyse
