Guest guest
Not long after I had a lap chole I started having these horrible pains. My gallbadder showed sludge and stones. Well I ended up with SOD. I was talking with one of the surgeons I used to work with. He does a lot of lap choles. I asked him about it. He told me that 20- 25% (I forget the exact but it was a 20something). Anyway he told me that 2-% of patients who have sludge and stones will get SOD. As the sphincter pressures rise the enzymes back up and begin to digest the panc. Leading to CP. I had cp allmy life and didn't know it. Thought it was just my gallbaldder. It was found on ERCP that I had a ductal deformity and a manometry of well over 100; quoting the pancreatolgist. After thelap chole I went down hill very rapidly. Less then 2 years later and here I am. Since I had the ductal deformity Id ont know for sure that the lap chole made me worse because with out it then they would have never found the deformity. However, it certainly did make my pain and other symptoms much much worse. So its sort of a double edged sword. A chicken or the egg kind of thing. Off to bed its really late for me. Hope every one is doing as well as they can and know that you all are in my prayers. I haven't gone on line for a few days, its been a really bad week. Warmly, (SC)
