Guest guest
I don't know if this is good for the intro diet, but those dried fruit snacks put out by Crispy Greens are wonderful. My son thinks he is eating sweet chips and they come in little packets like potato chips come in. Great for lunch boxes. They contain only fruit-nothing else. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Hi. Does anyone know of anything in the early part of the intro diet that would make a good snack for the road? We have been doing this diet for nearly 3 months, with the past 3 weeks being a re-do of the early part of the diet. My almost-4-year-old son is eating carrots, chicken, beef, eggs, homemade mayo...That's about it. I'd like to be able to take day trips but am at my wit's end with the snack/picnic situation. Also, my son has had diarrhea for the whole time we've been on this re-do of the into diet. Is that normal?
Guest guest
Dried fruits snacks would not be a good idea in you situation. They are very advanced. How about: sneaky veggie pancakes, chicken nuggets, hard-boiled eggs, chicken salad, egg salad, squash buttons (you could use carrots for the squash)? mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi , welcome to the group, <<Hi. Does anyone know of anything in the early part of the intro diet > that would make a good snack for the road?>> You shouldn't stay on the intro diet for more than 5 days. Do you mean some of the early foods? If yes, I used to make applesauce for my kids to bring to school along with ripe bananas. I had to pack the bananas in containers for my son because he throws his lunchbag around and the banana turns black. If tolerate you can also make carrot chips. Pumpkin pie filling made as a pudding, Lime pudding, green pudding (if nuts aren't tolerated add a little honey) for recipes see: http://pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html > ...diet for nearly 3 months, with the past 3 weeks being a re-do of the > early part of the diet. Seasoned chicken can have illegals added (sugar solutions, broths etc..) Ditto with the beef? What goes in your mayo? Are you using mustard powder (some have flour as a free flow agent - -check canister/container). How are the carrots cooked? Many need the carrots to be cooked a very long time until diarrhea slows and stops. In the soup recipe the carrosta re cooked for 4 hours and then pureed. Doing this for a while gives the body a break and allows it to heal. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and > >
