Guest guest
Hi My 8 yr old son has recently been diagnosed with Ileitis and Gastric Reflux(he also has an ASD). We have just started the SCD(day 6 today)-he has been GF/CF,Corn soya free etc for a while but we didnt feel we were getting anywhere. Our Nutritionist here in the UK has suggested that before we try nut butter in baking we should sprout sunflower seeds and grind these up into flour for cooking-I was wondering if anyoone has experiance of this flour in baking and recipes to share using sunflower flour. many thanks majidha hanif ps This is the first time I have posted so apologise if there is a thread on this subject already-didnt know where to look. Guest guest
Welcome to the group! You are very early in the diet and should not be using any baked goods with nut butters. The seed flour is not allowed. Please read here: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/sprouted_grain _breads.htm After you increase the well-cooked, peeled legal fruits and veggies with seeds removed and your son experiences some healing and the ability to do well with those food items, you can try a little nut butter and increase slowly (as will all new foods). In the mean time you can make pancakes and cupcakes with chicken. http://www.pecanbread.com/new/recipes1.html You can make a nut-free bread from the recipe in the files. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/files/ mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
