Guest guest
Its funny you mentioned the sweets. I was never a big sweet eater, always being more of a salt lover. Until I got sick. There was a time when all I could tolerate was italian ices and ok I'll admit it, 'cool pops'. After the total it seemed like I couldn't get enough of the sweets tho. Particularily ice creams. There are 4 gallons in my freezer now of various flavors. My kids even noticed that I was getting more of the 'good' stuff sine I had always been very strict about what they ate. Oh yeah and the 'cool pops' are in there too. Every night after the kids go to bed I chow down. Maybe thats why my a.m. BS's are a little high...lol. I have 3 bags of sugar free candy in my bedstand too...(gotta check the carbs on those tho some are really high). Someone was telling me that my new found lust for sweets may be a result of the diabetes. The physical need for sugar or perhaps its the desire to have what you are not supposed to have. I have always been such a rebel...lol. Anyway I dont think there is anything wrong with giving in to your occasional craving. Shoot sug, next week it may make you sick again so why not but on that extra few mm's (millimeters and the candy) of meat to your bones. I am concerned about taking those diet pills, you know thats not good for anybody. Actually, I have seen the ads on TV for the bigger M & M and I am just dying to get my sweaty hands on some of those babies, but I better finish the Twix bars first...*S* Oh and I do believe about the cravings for wanting something that is lacking. I was like that with each of my pregnancies and boy did I eat some weird stuff. Healthy, but weird combinations. I guess if I had to choose between Shirley and I would lean more to as a similairity of sorts. But in all honesty I am more like Judds character in " Divine secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood " , just bump up the time frame about 40 years, change the disease and I never beat my kids with a belt out side in the pouring rain (always indoors..haha). Oh and I dont have a thick southern drawel, I think I sound kind of snobby and snotty, thats ton for you; but I do know how to speak Gullah and Geetchey very well. I think the request for a letter of release from the Doc is a perfectly acceptable thing to ask for. Maybe they are out of town. If I dont hear something next week I'll call again. My toe is definetly wet and still sore from the shark, I'll bear the scars forever! Glad to know your feeling better and enjoy those chocs while you can!!! PS: What movie character best describes you? And thanks for not suggesting I am an Elly Mae Clampet, however if you had seen me in the kitchen yesterday you would swear I was Granny; fried up a whole mess of stuff!
