Guest guest
Has your son been gfcf, my daughter has and I waited almost 2 months to start the yogurt. I thought she was ok on it, but has had a little backslide and have decided to go back to the 1/4 tsp of goat yogurt. You might want to wait and go for the scdopholus from kirkmans labs...all 40 bucks worth!!! You would need the progurt starter, which might be worth ordering while you are paying the ice pack shipping. peace... susie hansen Starting Intro I have decided to do the Intro Diet for my son. Is honey an acceptable sweetener? Also, I ordered a yogurt maker and just found out it will be alot longer than the 2-3 days they claimed. Possibly not til October 1st. I will be making my own yogurt. I was trying to avoid that. Should I wait to start the Intro until I have successfully made a proper yogurt? Guest guest
Yes, you may use pure honey that is clear. If you come from a CF diet, then it's best to wait 3-4 months before trying yogurt. That way you won't confuse initial die-off with a reaction to casein. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/

He is on the probiotic and I have the yogurt starter and even goats in my back yard for milk. Guest guest
Clear amber. Not cloudy with pollen, bee parts. Honey has been filtered. Cloudy due to crystalization if you've had the honey for a while is ok. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi jo, <<What in the world is clear honey? Mine is amber colored and comes > from a local beekeeper. > > jo>> Clear honey is honey that light passes through. It may be light golden, amber coloured or a deep brown - it depends on what flowers the bees visited. Legal honey should be: 1. labelled pure and/or 100% honey. Check this carefully as some honeys have corn syrup and other sweeteners added. ( I got v. sick once from eating some that was just labeled honey , I asked the manager of the store if it was pure honey and he said " I highly doubt it. " ) 2. clear. Most of the pollen and 'bits' filtered out. This usually means pasteurized pure honey but if you can find raw, filtered, pure honey that is legal also.
