Guest guest
Hey, I don't know how far you are post op. I was on liquids the longest, but if you are at leas 14 days out and you want some " bad " food. Eat it. I promise you will not get the same pleasure from them as you once did. I know it's hard to get out of the diet mentality. I am just now coming around. I counted calories...still do sometime. I even know someone who counts the wheat chex in her cereal bowl. It easy to obsess. But, try no to overly restrict yourself. If you want to eat something...eat it and be done. You may get sick...but negative reinforcement works well too. I can't eat white carbs...so my first french fry attempt was just that...and attempt. After being on liquids for three months, I took my happy (rhymes with CLASS) to the Sonic and ordered a chili dog. I ate three bites...nothing happened...made it home and was sick as a dog. I dump from high fat...not sugar. Needless to say, Sonic and I are not friends. When I pass by there now... I just roll my eyes. LOL And, if it does agree with you, you won't be able to eat much anyway. Two or three will be the max...maybe even one. Relax if you can. This is a long term deal and you will be surrounded by food for the rest of your life. Better try to make peace with it now. Try to make good food choices most of the time to leave some room for deviation. You will be fine. I am not saying to go out and eat all kinds of bad foods on a regular basis and totally disregard the post op eating regimen. Just saying if you want to try something and you are off of liquids...try it...get it over with...it will be anticlimactic...I promise you. This won't apply if you are prone to binge eating, or if you do this regularly and eat sweets, fatty food, drink soda/tea, etc all at one sitting. But, acquiescing in one food craving won't sabotage your efforts. You may not even like it. I don't. I became a vegan by default. Nothing tasted right, so I quite eating it. So, chill...you will be ok. le Sizzlin' Red Hot Rutledge Babe 23% body fat...down from 37.5 -75 pounds
