Guest guest
Hi , << What keeps the body from going into ketosis on this diet?>> True ketosis is hard to acheive - you would have to be avoiding almost all legal carbs. Guest guest
I can answer this question since I'm extensively familiar with low carb dieting. This is NOT a low carb diet. Bananas will keep you out of ketosis. So will the stewed apples, carrots, pumpkins, etc. All these foods are very early foods and will most definitely keep a body out of ketosis. Oh, and the honey will do the trick, also. SCD is not a low carbohydrate diet. It is a Specific carbohydrate diet, those being the monosaccharides. But they are still carbs and those on this diet are still getting all three macronutrients: Carbs, Protein and Fats. Hope this helps.
