Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I did the dance on Friday, Nov.17. I was the last of five - the others were , , and ; met them briefly during one of my " walks " (more like slow shuffling) around the hospital halls. So far, so good! The staff at DRH were absolutely wonderful, every single individual I came into contact with.My sis-in-law, who was with me throughout, is director of volunteers at the hospital where she lives - and she was as impressed as I was with the quality of people and care at DRH. I was scheduled for 3:30 but ended up going to OR around 5pm. Have no memory of anything until recovery and being taken to my room. I felt sore (like someone was sitting on my chest/upper abdomen) that evening and Saturday morning, but walking helped. Also I've had a little gas, and the feeling of a stitch under my left ribs, which Dr. R said happens to a good number of people. It is already better today. Was released Saturday at lunchtime; everyone else had already gone. Now I am home with my sis-in-law babysitting me, doing the stage 1 eating (or, more accurately, sipping) and meds. I have slept alot but feel pretty well overall. So far no nausea, although there is a weird feeling whenever a sip hits my new stomach - I can actually feel it " plop " down there! I am thankful for all your prayers and good wishes, I know they helped me and my littermates get through the surgery successfully. Dr. R did his part, now I have to do mine! Littermates , , and , how are you doing? Kate
