Guest guest
Ok I will admit that I have been one of the fortunate ones who has not had a lot of pain except when SOD spasms or pancreas attacks. Of course everyone knows either of these are pain enough. But in between times has been pretty good for me over the years of having CP and SOD. Now I am beginning to hurt everyday (almost all day) in my back on the right side, up the right shoulder and around the right side. Pain scale it can go from an achey 1 or 2 to a more extreme 6 or 7. I am not on any pain meds at the moment but as I sit and post this message I certainly wish I had a pain pill!! The pain in my back is excruciating at the moment and I attribute that to have just eaten my dinner about 20 minutes ago. Nausea is more frequent now also. Has anyone else gone through periods where the pain changes? I am so used to dealing with the pain I've had.......this new stuff just scares me. I know so many of you have had some tough pain experiences and pain to me is a scary situation in itself. As CP progresses I suppose the symptoms get better/worse and things change. Thanks for letting me vent a little and coming to my pity party. Sometimes you just need to vent to someone who knows how you feel. Guest guest
Zoie, I've had this disease for many, many, years. I was very naive all throughout my 20's thinking that my illness were viruses. I have been crazy sick the last 8 months, my pain and the symptoms have changed their wicked ways. I've never had back or rib pain until this year. I thought it was the purse I was using, no such luck! I would have attacks that lasted anywhere from one or two days to a month. Although, the last two months have been horrendous for me! My attacks have shortened in duration, they usually only last anywhere from 3-9 hours. But the pain has changed. I get no warning sign what so ever and bam! I am in attack mode. A few days ago I literally went upstairs to change to try and get out of the house, I didn't even take off a sock, because I was in attack mode. It is the pits! The attacks are so sudden and uncontrolable until I take 2-4 mgs. of dilaudid and 25 phenegran. Who wants to take diaudid all the time? I am already on methedone, 40 mg/3X day and phenegran 25 mgs./3-5 a day. The only good thing about the attacks is I have gone to the ER with 3 of these attacks and the meds usually knock the pain out and I don't have to be admitted, but the ER people probably think I am a druggie. But, then again, what druggie drags along their parents to every single ER visit and hospitalization? Take care and feel better.
