Guest guest
Greetings everybody...this is my first time on...my daughter Sophia who is 3 years old with a seizure disorder, reflux, and developmental delay (possible Rett's syndrome) just started the scdiet officially about a week ago. Her breath is quite smelly and the frequency of her seizures seems a bit worse, waking up earlier in the morning could all of this be possibly due to die off? Anyway I wanted to start her on probiotics soon but was wondering if it would be okay to go ahead and try her with the homemade goat's yogurt and not bother with having to buy the probiotic pills. She's been dairy free for about 7 months. Also,in a book by Dr. Natasha McBride (who is a neurologist who studied nutrition and has a son with autism), called Gut and Psychology Syndrome she says many people with GAPS have low stomach acid and benefit from supplementing betaine hcl with pepsin. Has anyone tried supplementing this and/or do they know of a brand that is scd compatible? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Some people do find that epsom salt baths help. For some die off symptoms and epsom salt bath directions: http://pecanbread.com/new/temporarysymptoms.html Did you start with the intro diet or just switch to all legal SCD foods? <<Anyway I wanted to start her > on probiotics soon but was wondering if it would be okay to go ahead > and try her with the homemade goat's yogurt and not bother with having > to buy the probiotic pills. It may also be best to wait until she is through the worst of the die off and her seizure frequency decreases or stabilizes. <<Also,in a book by Dr. Natasha McBride (who is a neurologist > who studied nutrition and has a son with autism), called Gut and > Psychology Syndrome she says many people with GAPS have low stomach > acid and benefit from supplementing betaine hcl with pepsin. Gisele>> Some do find betaine HCl helpful but I believe it should be under a doctors care (or at least knowledge).
