Guest guest
I met with Doc Sutherland yesterday. I think I am going to go ahead and do the whipple prior to the TP/ICT. What do ya'll think? I REALLY like Doc Sutherland A LOT! I liked MN too. It was all good.-Kathleen
Guest guest
Dear Katseyes, Who and where are you having your Whipple done? I was under the impression that once I had a Whipple, I would not be able to have a TP, because of the IC. What was the reason that you decided to do the Whipple BEFORE and why not just go fo the TP? In reading people's messages on this listserve, I feel like the majority of people are gravitating toward the TP-ICT, why? I was under the impresion that after a few years of feeling well from the TP, people became Brittle Diabetics? If this is true and the tail has yet to be affected by CP, why not just have a Whipple that doesn't disturb the tail of the Pancreas? Can someone please help me clarify this. Thanks,
Guest guest
Dr Sutherland at the Un. of MN. He only cuts the head of the panc off. And no, he says it does not ruin your chance of thr tp/ict. We need to do the whipple so I can drain. I have SOD. I was also born without ducts and none of my ducts connect. So, by doing this now, it will make the tp/ict successful next year. After talking with dr S, I think there is a lot of bad info out there about the whipple, etc. So much depends on whom you choose as a surgeon. Thats why I am not messing around, I want the best, period. for some people, it has to be a 'step' process. Nothing in my GI system works as it should and I mean nothing. I also have a kidney issue. If you only have cp, I say go for the tp/ict. -Kathleen specialedugator wrote:Dear Katseyes, Who and where are you having your Whipple done?
