Guest guest
I just found out that the medical college sold our clinics to the hospital that they are located at. So as of October first, we are out of jobs. I may be premature in mourning my loss as nothing official has been said to me yet, but I am always the last to know in our department because I am not geographically near the others, nor am I an active part in any of the day to day workings of the division. But, all of the other clinic staff has been notified already......and my chair said that " they " (the big-wigs) never discussed the implications to me of the transfer of ownership and agrees that we are in a very serious position right now..... So I should find out in the next couple of weeks.....but we both agree, things look really bleak right now. And to be purely unselfish about this.......this really screws our patients big time. And no one cares, that is the saddest thing about it. laurie (crying my eyes out)
Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I am so sorry to hear about this. Will the clinic still be providing pt care when they join the hospital group? I would think that yours and everybody elses job would be needed irregardless of who actually owned the building and name. But then again I am no 'big wig' and find their logic behind certain actions illogical. That always seemed like they were cutting off their noses to spite thier face, doesn't make sence to me. I hope the stress of all this doesn't upset your pancreas. I think potential loss of a job is one of the top five in the stress producers category. I hope things work out for you and your coworkers and of course the patients. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I haven't been feeling very well and my computer has been freeing up on me. I need to take it and have it checked out, the computer that is, but in all honesty, that is a low priority. I did email the doc telling him what has been going on and he wants to see me next week but wants a cat scan first. I will have the scan on monday and see him on wed. I hate to go back to that clininc. I had told everybody my good byes, hugs and all that, and had said I will never come back as a patient again. Well, never say never right. I am having an increased difficulty in digestion and some pretty intense pain in my right lower rib cage. My blood sugars are not so hot either. I know I shouldn't even think this, but I am concerned about my liver. Its times like this that I wish I never knew a thing about anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of body systems. Never ever underestimate the power of ignorant bliss. Well I hope the clinics will be left to govern themselves and you can continue to do your wonderful job. Please please please try not to over think it (easier said then done for me) and get yourself all stressed out about it until you have all the facts. Please let me know how things go. Warmly,
