hi all,

i am just wondering what others do when they introduce yogurt... i introduced

it twice before and we failed miserably (lasted a week before we had upper resp

infection and extreme temps) but i introduced it a couple of months ago and so

far so good! the only thing i am doing different is using a phenol assist

enzyme (as well as a complete with isogest which is what i used the other two

failed attempts). my biomed doctor said that yogurt does contain phenols so

maybe that was our problem before? we started with 1 tsp and worked our way

upto 2 tbls. i thought is was worth posting incase this could help someone else

introduce the yogurt?

the only thing i am wondering is... the point of the yogurt is to get all that

good bacteria into the gut to do its work and i am thinking that giving the

enzymes with the yogurt is breaking down the bacteria before it makes the

journey... does anyone know what affect enzymes have on the yogurt??? what

does everybody else do in order for their kids to tolerate the yogurt?

thanks,

It depends on the exact formula of the enzymes. I doubt that all the

bacteria are killed (if any), but it depends on a lot of parameters.

If you haven't increased the amount of enzyme as you increase the

yogurt you are probably getting some bacteria and the the other

factors in the yogurt may be promoting healing in the gut.

1 tsp can be a large amount of yogurt to start with. We usually

suggest 1/8 tsp for beginners. Some of your problems may have been

die off. I wouldn't be suprised if the enzymes helped with die off.
