Nuts? Acidic or Alkalining?

Hi:

A friend of mine who suffers from Cohn's send me a website

www.healthgazelle.com which puts foods in a category of High Alkaline to High

Acid. One thing her GI doc told her is to be careful not to eat foods which are

acidic because it causes inflammation in her stomach which leads to a whole mess

of problems for her (ex. diarrhea, acid reflux, yeast, etc.) She also states

her GI doc said to have a balance because your body can't be too alkalinizing as

well. So a mixture of foods would help keep things balanced. I ran this by my

son's GI doc Dr. Buie and he agreed.

By looking at this food list, I noticed some SCD legal foods can be acidic.

This probably explains my son's constant yeast problems even with being on the

diet for 2 1/2 years. I was making all his baked goods with Pecans which are

very acidic. I was given him to many foods that were acidic which cause his

inflammation which equals to yeast/bacteria. So I switched some things around

which are still SCD legal. I switched from Pecan to Hazelnuts, I might try

Brazilian nuts. I have to do another IgG allergies to see if he is still

allergic to Almonds because they are also very alkalinizing. The food category

lists some foods which are not SCD legal but you can pick the ones that are SCD

legal.

I'm hoping this will help my son further with his yeast/inflammation problems

that we just can't get rid of.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks

Jeanne
