Guest guest
I am making the SCD yogurt for the first time, and was just wondering if there's a way for me to make it taste better. I have never liked yogurt-almost makes me sick. I just have a feeling I'm not going to like it. I'm hoping to do the first 5 days of the diet. Also, a question about the diet. I have ulcerative colitis and have been having a really bad flare. My doctor put me on prednisone (have been taking asacol). After being on it for a week, I was not much better. He then had me do 3 infusions of a steroids. I had some improvement, but not enough. I'm still seeing blood. Now, he's talking about putting me on imuran. I'm getting really scared. I really don't want to take it (scared of the side affects). That's why I'm really interested it this diet. Can anyone tell me, how soon after doing the diet does the blood go away. Thanks for any advice.
Guest guest
Hi , <<I am making the SCD yogurt for the first time, and was just wondering if there's a way for me to make it taste better. The Progurt starter makes a very mild tasting yogurt. My husband doesn't like it because he likes the " acidic bite " of regular yogurt. To remove some of the acidity of any 24 hr yogurt you can drip the yogurt. See <http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/yoghurt/dripp ing_yoghurt.htm> (You may have to copy and paste the links to a new window) Some add fruit and honey to their yogurt. <<I'm hoping to do the first 5 days of the diet. When ready to the yogurt start small and gradually increase it - (treat it like medicine). See <http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/the_intro_die t2.htm> http://pecanbread.com/new/scdfoods1.html#intro (dairy free intro) Bleeding is often one of the last symptoms to go away. Heavy bleeding often stops sooner and diarrhea and constipation also stops sooner for most when they start with the intro diet. How often are your bm's?
