Guest guest
hi shelia, you said - <Some add fruit and honey to their yogurt> im just wondering how this is done? i add pureed fruit before i serve it to audrey but i would like to just be able to serve without having to mix it up prior to eating... can you add pureed fruit to the milk before culturing for the 24 hrs? does it still produce a yogurt with a good consistency? is this a good way to do it as it ferements the fruit a little making it easier to digest? thanks, roweena x p.s. thanks for your reply about the enzymes. i will continue giving them! Guest guest
Hi Roweena, <<you said - > > <Some add fruit and honey to their yogurt> > > im just wondering how this is done? >> You can make fruit smoothies in a blender or food processor. I add a little yogurt and ripe banana and blend. When smooth I add the remainder of the yogurt and honey to sweeten. Sometimes we make strawberry and banana yogurt smoothies sometimes banana and blueberry etc.. I also like fresh fruit (ripe banana or ripe mango, pineapple etc..) with yogurt and a little drizzle of honey - sometimes sprinkled with nut flour. Before I was able to tolerate raw fruit i added homemade applesauce or pearsauce. << i add pureed fruit before i serve it to audrey but i would like to just be able to serve without having to mix it up prior to eating... can you add pureed fruit to the milk before culturing for the 24 hrs? does it still produce a yogurt with a good consistency?>> No, Elaine cautioned not to add the fruit before making the yogurt. <<is this a good way to do it as it ferements the fruit a little making it easier to digest?>> Hmmm... fermenting fruit may produce alcohol. I'd have to look into that. > p.s. thanks for your reply about the enzymes. i will continue giving them! > You're welcome Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD mom of and >
