Guest guest
Hi Lynn, <<My 20 month old, who was a preemie can barely eat a thing...he is on > rice milk now.>> Just to let newbies know rice milk isn't legal on the SCD. <<for 3 weeks has been sick and I can't get him better. > waiting on stool results to come back. what other drink can I give > him?>> Are you going to put him on SCD? There are formulas with goat yogurt, some use nut milk, honey, a formula recipe in BTVC... (honey can be sterilized in pressure cooker, directions in BTVC) If he is becoming dehydrated you can make the electrolyte drink http://pecanbread.com/new/recipes/electrolytedrink.html It may help to put him on the diet to get him eating, starting with the intro and then easy to digest foods. At first you can use legal diluted juices etc.. for him to drink. Is he losing weight? We had been giving rice milk previously (On gf/cf diet) but just bit the bullet and did scd. After 6 months we have introduced clarified butter, mature (30+ days) cheddar, goat milk yogurt (made scd obviously!!) He's doing fantastically well, we had an appt with the paed last month, he's gone from having 5+ per day mushy diarrhoea nappies (with undigested food, yeaty lumps etc) to having 1 bm per day. Nice brown formed ones!. He's now at the 94th percentile for height and the 98th percentile for weight. We also have regular blood, stool, urine tests with our DAN! so we KNOW he's healthy and doing great on SCD Jane Mum to Nic 2 years 7 months Autism SCD 6 months p.s in the last 6 months he also greets us, plays hide and seek, has some sign language and has a handful of spontaneous words.
