Your assessment that accepting is half the battle is a mature one.

You've experienced considerable misfortune for someone of such a young

age, yet your age could be considered a primary reason for you not to

wait in denial and lose out on so much, when there are other options

available for you that could help you regain your health.

While you can't restore those eight months that you feel you've lost,

by making this decision you are chosing to move toward the road to

recovering your health, instead of allowing yourself to lose any more

time.

It appears that you hav researched your options carefully, and made

that definitive decision that should alter your condition. Instead of

waiting for the next shoe to drop, you're catching it in mid air and

putting it back on - with the hope that this maneuver will be the one

that can secure some new quality of life for you. I know it must have

been a very difficult and stressing decision to accept major surgery

as your option. Yet, it sounds as though you have the advantages of

having an excellent doctor/surgeon prepared to help you, and that

other highly qualified and experienced professionals support both your

choice of physician and your choice of surgery.

Let us know the dates of your Whipple surgery once you've learned them

yourself. Congratulations for making a difficult decision in a

timely, sensible manner. May the rest of your journey be smooth

sailing on calm waters.
