How do I know it's time to move on?

Hi all,

I'm new to SCD and very excited to find it. I know the intro diet

should only be done for 2 to 5 days. I'm still not clear on how I know

when it's time to move on. My son has autism and chronic constipation.

He never tells me if he hurts or anything. So how do I know when his

intro diet should be brought to an end and start introducing other

foods? Thanks so much.

Diane (8 year old son with autism)

Hi Diane,

Welcome to our list.

The intro diet should not take longer than a couple of days for folks with

constipation and no longer than 5 days for people with D.

You might find some answers in this page:

Thank you for the link. I've read everything I can get my hands on while I wait

for the book. I want to make sure I do it right. I do have two more questions.

We aren't suppose to use juice from concentrate, but we can use 100% Welches

grape juice. The ingredience list shows it's made from concentrate. So is it

really okay? Also, the only fish I can get here is the packaged fish at Walmart

Supercenter. The Talapia doesn't have any other ingredients, but they used CO to

keep the original color. Is that okay? Thanks again.

Elaine checked out the Welch's and their Grape juices from

concentrate are legal (not the frozen ones or their juice blends).

Talapia is okay for the intro. The CO is fine.
