Hard Stools

I've tried searching the site for constipation remedies, but the link

provided does not seem to be appearing.

My daughter, I think, is suffering from yeast. She is distended, and

occasionally giggly. Her stools are hard and like balls. Is this

normal? She has been on the diet 20months. She eats all the foods in

all the stages. I believe her diet to be varied. She has very large

quantities of food in a day, I I'm not convinced the output of stools

is enough compared to the input of food.(how much honey is

recommended per day for a child, how much fruit per day?)

Am i right to think her stools should be more like tubes?

If so, what remedies do you suggest for constipation? My DAN doctor

says psyllium or flax seed, but I know that both of these are illegal.

We are using caprilic acid to address the yeast, since diflucan and

nystatin did not seem to work.(just started today)

In the meantime, I would love to give her bowels a " jump start " .

Thank you

The link is working but yahoo breaks up long links so they don't seem

to work.

Try going first to

http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/

then go to " Knowledge base " and click on it

Then go to " A to F " and click it

Scroll down and click on " Constipation " Whn finished reading it go

back to " a to F " and read " Constipation (Cont'd)

No. It sounds like constipation which yeast can cause or worsen.

It depends on her weight, her activity level etc..

Fitday.com can help determine this.

Yes.

Have a look at the constipation protocol. If you still can't get to

it let me know and I'll send you the info offlist.

For yeast please see

http://pecanbread.com/new/yeast.html

http://pecanbread.com/new/yeastsheila.html

When treating yeast I had to work very hard not to become

constipated. Start the protocol and let us know if that helps if not

we may have some other suggestions for what to do next.

Thanks,

If I've understood correctly, then I have to start the intro diet

again for a couple of days. After that I'm going to introduce stewed

prunes and if that doesn't work, then the prune juice and OJ.(which

prune juice is legal?)

I'm also going to introduce magnesium citrate. How much would you

suggest? I will give her more nut yoghurt(will make some at the

weekend). I'll wait until after the intro before giving her that.

Have I understood correctly?

Thanks .

(which prune juice is legal?)>>

The first step for the constipation protocol after the intro is to

add one nut muffin/day along with cooked and peeled vegetables and

fruits. After a few days if not responding add stewed prunes with

breakfast. Elaine suggested to try this for 7-10 days.

If no luck yet she then suggested to try the prune nectar and OJ etc..

I am not sure-I haven't used it. Many other families use it

hopefully- they'll tell you what they use.

Close but not quite..see above notes.
