Guest guest
Believe it or not, the problem IS money. This doctor is a special needs dentist and gave me some information on the Grottos (a sect of the Shriners) that pays for the expense of the anesthesia ($1500). I can't afford this...seriously. So I am a part of the problem because it took a month to get this in place...now that it is in place, I am left with the option of either waiting 2 weeks (if I want them to pay for it) or papoosing my boy with no anesthesia just to temporarily fix the tooth that is the most troublesome! Ahh! Will antibiotics really hurt him? I'm ticked off about this too, but I don't know which way to turn. If I get a new dentist, it will be more time and I wouldn't have the $1500 help from the Shriners and I wouldn't be able to pay the bill...I'm stuck! Rhonda 5 year old w/ Autism/ 8 year old w/ Autism and seizure disorder/ on diet for 2 years except haven't started yogurt yet and still trying to wean boys completely off rice. Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, I know how bad tooth pain can be I have had two abscessed teeth - needed root canals. If you decide on the antibiotics conside taking S. boulardii. Since it is a good yeast it can be taken at the same time as antibitoics and the antibiotics won't harm it. Probiotic bacteria (L. acidophilus) needs to be taken at least two hours after antibiotics so the antibiotics don't kill all the good bacteria along with the bacteria causing the infection.
