Guest guest
Hello We started the diet for our son, 7 years old and ASD. He has been 3 years gf/cf/sf, and one year of this we significantly lowered grains. We haven't started the diet properly. He has some meat stock, meat, eggs, cooked veges, salad, fresh fruit, and fresh sqeezed juice, and almond milk. The reason for the friut and salad is because he tends towards constipation. The reason for the almond milk is because he can't tolerate and Calcium suppliments. He takes 1/2 a cranberry tablet which seems to reduce the drunken effect from the phenols. However since on the diet, we saw a glimpse of a better boy, then it seems his phenols have got too high. Sometimes he is a very silly drunk, other times cranky like a hangover, sometimes dark circles under the eyes. I have removed banana, coloured fruit, reduced almond milk, but still he is all over the place. Any ideas Thanks in advance Kath PS he also takes a small amout of zinc, vitamin C, symbiotic, omega care
Guest guest
There is a NO FENOL enzyme that you can give from houston nutraceuticals. I am almost positive they are SCD legal but you may want to call and check first. --- kathcoelli wrote: > Hello > We started the diet for our son, 7 years old and > ASD. Guest guest
Hi, Kath, Sounds like you are moving towards the SCDiet but have not yet started. I hope the progress you have seen so far inspires you to do the actual diet. There is some calcium in some fruits and vegetables and after a while on the diet you can try yogurt and cheese, so you need to remove the almond milk. It is full of illegals that hinder healing. I can't tell if the supplements you are giving are illegal because you did not list the ingredients. I have no idea what " Symbiotic " is and when I googled " Omega Care " I found a margarine substitute full of illegals. Please provide us with the ingredients of the cranberry tablet, and make sure the C and zinc you are using are free of illegals as well. Be sure you have read Breaking the Vicious Cycle and the wonderful information at www.pecanbread.com. In particular, you can see the list of legal supplement additives and illegal ones. There are also files that are sent out when you join--be sure you have read those. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > > Hello > We started the diet for our son, 7 years old and ASD. Guest guest
Hi, again Kath, I think I jumped to conclusions when I first replied. You say you give your son almond milk and I assumed you meant the purchased kind, which is illegal. If the almond milk is homemade, it is legal. A No-phenol type enzyme is, of course, one option, but you might want to consider starting with the intro diet and then just adding one food at a time, watching for reactions. Often the sensitivities subside after a time of healing on the diet. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/04 > > > > Hello > > We started the diet for our son, 7 years old and ASD. Guest guest
Just to encourage you, we had phenol issues at first but I'd say after about 6 months it wasn't a problem any more. Robbie
