Guest guest
Is there a difference (legality wise) between Pure honey and Clover honey? Is one better than the other for cooking? The Pure honey is Much, Much, Sweeter! Thanks, Christy Maegan 5yr, Au, SCD12 days and counting
Guest guest
Hi, Christy, Honey labeling in the US is regulated by each state. In my state of Indiana, " pure honey " means that nothing has been added to it. If a honey is not labeled " pure " in Indiana, it means that it can have sugar or corn syrup, etc. added to it and still be called honey. " Clover honey " is labeled that way because the bees produced the honey predominently from the clover flower. There are many kinds of honey from different flowers (example: orange blossom honey) and they will taste different based on the flower. Sometimes the flavor can be strong and sometimes mild, depending on the flower. You can have a label that says " clover honey " and also " pure honey " on the same container, or it might say " Pure Clover Honey " . I wish this was more standardized; I always feel I can only speak for my own state. It's possible other states and countries label honey the same way, but I can't really say. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
