Guest guest
Hello, I have yet another question to ask about pain meds. My pharmacist says that percocet isn't nesecarily stronger than darvocet in as much as it is a different med and might work differently. But then again I have heard that Darvocet is just glorified motrin. But you hear about all the dependency on it, so that makes me wonder where the truth lies. It's usually somewhere between the middle. Anyway, I had stayed away from vicodin for pain relief after a bad experience with it, but ended up taking one tonight because of pain, the darvocet just isn't cutting the mustard anymore. The difference I notice is that it doesn't make me feel as drugged out as the darvocet does, but it doesn't exactly do more for the pain either. And I don't know if I can take percocet an hour after taking a vicodin like I can after a darvocet. I guess I have gotten comfortable there. Does anyone know the " real " story on these 2 drugs, or is just a personal preference thing? Kinda like those that prefer morphine to demerol. I have to ask my FNP on tuesday for a prescription for vicodin if there really is a " real " difference but she only wanted to write me a script for 30 darvon and I fear the same for vicodin and my prescription for darvocet is for 60 and that gets me through the month....supplemented by percocet. I feel like such a druggie asking these questions and even more so for having to go to the FNP and ask for meds. So whatever I have to ask for I only want to have to bring it up once a year and not revisit it again if I don't have to. Thanks for the help. I sure need all the advice on this issue I can get.
