Guest guest
The way each of us respond to a pain med is as individual as our eye color. The best way to find a pain med that works for you is by trial and error. However, there is something you said in your post that gives me some concern. You said that you are taking, darvocet, percocet, and vicodan. Each one of those meds contain tylenol. Anywhere from 325mg per pill to 500mg per pill. Taking too much tylenol is liver toxic. Darvon and Darvocet are the same med, propoxyphene (SP?)darvocet has the tylenol in it, percocet is oxycodone with tylenol and vicodan is hydrocodone with tylenol. A healthy person should not take more the 4grams of tylenol daily and for no longer then 2 weeks. Long term tylenol therapy should not exceed 2.6grams 2600mgs per day. When you discuss your pain therapy with the FNP please let her know that what you are now taking may end up causing liver damage due to excessive tylenol intake. I hope this helps.
