Guest guest
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting as much, but as you know, life goes on! Today is my six month MGB anniversary, and I am thrilled. How appropriate to reach this milestone at Thanksgiving, because this year I have so much to be thankful for. Each day is like a miracle, and I am truly appreciating my life in a way I never could before. This surgery has changed my life. Not just my weight, or even my health, but my LIFE. I have made so many new, dear friends, that I will have for the rest of my life. I have never known such true and honest acceptance. I have a new, healthier, sleeker body, which has helped restore my self confidence, and self esteem. I can honestly say I have never liked myself more than I do right now. I am so proud of who I am, and what I have accomplished in life. Now I can accept and appreciate these things, rather than hiding behind excuses and embarrassment. I never felt truly successful, even with a wonderful husband and three terrific kids; a job that couldn't be more perfect, a nice house, loving parents and friends...but I was never happy because I had no control over one very obvious part of my life - my own body. No matter what I did, my sheer size was in my way - literally and figuratively. My weight was always an issue. It affected every aspect of my life, and in many ways I never realized until now. How blessed I am to have found the MGB, and to be able to share my journey with many, many others through the Internet which has been an additional blessing. I have found the more I give, the more I receive. WOW. Life is better than I had ever imagined. Ok, so enough of the mushy stuff - you want some stats. Here you go!
