Guest guest
Hey all, First time I have been able to sit up at my computer. I am just on for a few minutes here to check my email and wanted to let you know how I am faring. I am not sure if it is just pain in that region, or if my pancreas is still in trouble because I do still have that dull nagging pain there. I wonder, if indeed removing my gallbladder will bring it back to normal, how long willit take, or should I have already felt relief and I am unfortunate enough to have CP? Other than that, I am dealing with the pain. I can't take painkillers as they make me too dizzy, so I am just biting the bullet. They did give me quite a bit of morphine before leaving the OR, which I have never had, so at least I know I'm not allergic. It really zonked me out and made coming out of the anesthesia harder. I think the anesthesia is the WORST part of it. Trying to come out of it and the after effects are horrible. I just can't imagine people who elect to have frequent surgery for plastic surgery. I am having trouble talking because I have a lot of flem in my throat that I can't seem to bring up. When I talk, it gags me. I have been drinking warm water, gargle with salt water, lozenges, etc. Nothing is dissolving it. The gallbladder was so bad. They said it was diseased, scarred, enlarged and had 150 stones in it. My surgeon said he could have paved a driveway with them. Now my problem is I have to have another surgery and I don't think I can go through with it. I just can't imagine going through this again. You see, I was scheduled to have a uterine tumor removed on Aug 2nd and to check for endo as well as (GOD forbid) any cancerous tissue. MY periods have been so heavy and painful that I was becoming anemic. On July 30th, I began feeling very ill with pain in my upper abdomen. I went to the hospital and they found I had pancreatitis (!!!) they think was caused by the gallbladder (I am praying that this is so and my pancreas returns to normal now that my gallbladder is gone). I was hospitized for it and told to get my gallbladder out. So, now I still have to have the other surgery and I don't want to. This has been so hard! Take care, Eileen
