Guest guest
I've always read you shouldn't eat fruit after a meal because the fruit digestest faster so it sits on top of the other food and ferments. I've never really worried about it before, but I'm wondering now if we should or not. I like to eat fruit (sauce etc.) for a desert after a meal. Is that a bad thing? Thanks Diane (mom to 8 year old son with autism)
Guest guest
Hi Diane, I once asked Elaine about this matter. She replied that this is something for those who eat starches and complex sugars. It does not apply for SCDers whose digestion works faster since we avoid the foods that take a long time to digest. There is always a possibility that this measure might help some of the extreme cases but I just do not know; I have not heard of cases where this measure helps. It certainly does not hurt to try.
