Guest guest
I'm truly confused about juices from concentrate...Why is it ok in Welch's grape juice, but not other things? Mott's Healthy Harvest No Sugar Added Applesauce has: apples, water, strawberry puree concentrate and vegetable juices for color, Ascorbic acid (vitamin C), Natural Flavors. Is this Legal? Guest guest
Hi Christy, The reason that Welsh's grape juice is legal despite the concentrate is due to the fact that Elaine researched this juice thoroughly. It is harder to investigate a juice with concentrate because there is the possibility that the concentrate was made by a different company than the one that bottled the juice. There is more and more research about the harm of food additives. So many companies are forced to add sugar (or flavorings) to make a product more palatable. Many companies do not list the ingredients. My confession: I used to serve my family grape juice from a company that made organic grape juice. It seemed to be a small company; I thought that it was a family owend farm. I just trusted their product despite the fact that it was not listed as legal. We moved to another place for a year, in another state very far away. I no longer could find the same grape juice. I then used the Kedem organic grape juice. At first we hated the taste of the Kedem organic grape juice. It did not taste sweet enough for us. However, we gradually got to love it. A while later, I noticed that my son who used to be so skinny had become a size medium. He also made great strides in social skills. My daughter was also changed. When we returned to our old home, I tried the old grape juice and noticed that it had a very artificial taste. I no longer buy it and I now realize that it might have sabotaged my kids' progress.
