Hi all,

I'm a new member here. My name's Qadoshyah and I'm the 18 year old

sister to boy/girl twins and also the oldest of 11 kids. The twins are

2 1/2 years old and the boy has Down syndrome. We do alot of things

with him nutritionally (vitamins & diet) to help him out. We've been

doing things with him nutritionally since he was 8 months old - when

we found out about all that we could actually do!

My brother is not on SCD, but we've heard about the diet alot from

early on. I don't feel he needs to be on the diet at this point, since

he is extremely healthy. He is lactose-intolerant (cannot digest cow's

milk), but that is easily taken care of because we have fresh, raw

goat and cow milk, as we have our own goats and 1 cow for that very

purpose (milk!).

I thought I'd join this group since I was looking up some things on

SCD to include into our book that my mom and I are writing about Down

syndrome. I am taking some online college nutrition courses through

UC Berkeley and will soon be taking a Cell Biology class. I thought

this list would be interesting and informative spot, even though we

aren't on the diet or the Autism spectrum.

I'll probably mainly be a lurker, but thought I'd say a quick " hello! "

Sorry for the lengthy first post . . . off for now,

Qadoshyah
