Guest guest
Hello we are new here. I have a 9 year old son with ASD and we recently started the diet about a week and a half ago. I think I finely have eliminated all illegals, the supplements took a little figuring out. I have two questions I am curious about. The first is everything I have read anywhere has said that on an anti-yeast diet you should try to eliminate all sugars including fruit and honey. I know in the book it says these are legal because they are monosacchrides but why are they okay when it appears the yeast can feed off of them. And should we try to really limit them if we are eating them? Secondly, has anyone else hear had any experience using oregano and/orgarlic capsules and if so have you noticed any improvement with these? Thanks in advance for your input. Guest guest
Hi, , Eliminating the starches and complex carbs should be enough for most SCDers to do well and enjoy healthy fruit and honey. Occasionally there can be people with an extreme problem with yeast. In that case, try reducing the amount of honey to 1/3 of what is called for in a recipe. If you still have problems with that amount of honey and the fruit, then you may have to discontinue honey and limit fruit for a period of time. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/

I found it to be one of the better natural antifungals. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and
