something sad

I just had to post this today. Last night I was on my way back from

taking a friend of mine to the hospital, when I saw a homeless woman

waking with no shoes on and only a blanket to keep her warm. She was

a large woman with no shoes and barely anything for warmth. My heart

went out to her. At first I passed her by, but I kept thinking of how

sad that was and wondering why she had gotten in that kind of

situation in the first place. I could not get that image out of my

mind, maybe perhaps thinking, no one would hire her because she was

overweight, perhaps she had suffered the predjudice that we all have

and still experience because of our size.

Anyway I turned my car around and found her,I gave her a blanket I

had in my car and I only had $6 on me and I gave her that, hoping she

could find something warm to eat and drink. She was ever so grateful.

Today I cleaned out my closet and I will find her tonight and give

her some shoes and clothing.

I guess this made me reflect on just how fortunate I am in my life to

have a loving family, a home , a job and good friends. So fortunate

to have all my new MGB friends and I am thankful to all of you and

Doctor Rutledge for coming into my life.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU
