Jodi,

You asked if your symptoms sounded like any of ours, and I would have

to agree that this is how my CP started. It was occasional in the

beginning, then I began to lose weight and noticed problems with off

and on diarrhea or constipation and nausea or vomiting after I ate

anything high in fat. The symptoms were not continuous, nor all at

the same time, so it progressed for over a year before I had my first

acute attack, and then all the problems were diagnosed and made sense.

My gallbladder still is normal and healthy, so there's never been any

discussion to have it taken out. I was dx'd. with CP 4-1/2 years ago,

had my pancreas burn out 2-1/2 years ago and am now an insulin

dependent diabetic.

You may wish to consult more with this GI and ask him what treatment,

diet, enzymes and pain medication he suggests that can help you with

your problems. Most people with CP follow a strict low-fat, low

protein, high carb diet.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi
