Guest guest
I'm concerned that the GI Health progurt I have been using to make my son's raw goat yogurt might have been killed off with the high temperature of the yogurt maker. Could anyone give me some guidelines as to the maximum temperature for making SCD legal goat yogurt? I have a print out the directions to make the goat yogurt but it does not indicate what the maximum temperature should be for a yogurt maker. Thanks in advance. Guest guest
The maximum safe temperature, as far as we know without additional lab testing, is 110F. Thus far, we have not found a lab to do these tests for us. mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
Guest guest
Hi - Thank you very much for your reply. I went back through old posts and also found that the temp should be 110F (maximum). Unfortunately, the EuroCuisine Yogurt Maker goes up to 125F which has pretty much killed the good bacteria I put in -- NO WONDER my son did not have any type of reaction when I gave him the yogurt to eat. I will try making the yogurt again -- this time testing the yogurt with a temperature gauge every 4-5 hours and turning it off when it gets close to 110F to let it cool off and then restarting it again when the temperature goes down. Thanks again. Martha > > The maximum safe temperature, as far as we know without additional lab > testing, is 110F.
