Hello everyone,

Well three months after the TP-ICT I am still having a lot of digesting

problems. Most of the time after I eat my stomach gets real bubbly and crampy

and I have to go straight to the bathroom, usually after I go to the bathroom I

am good until the next time I eat. Well today it hasn't gone away my stomach

has been like this all day and I even threw up and that is unusal. I hate

having to plan my meals around what I will be doing right after I eat. Today I

didn't plan right at all I got soooo sick in class today and I had to leave

early because my stomach hurt soooo bad. I have tried takign more enzymes and

that doesn't seem to be working and I am going to try and get different kinds of

enzymes and maybe that will help. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am also

losing weight liek crazy, thirty pounds in 3 months. I know with surgery comes

weight lose but i didn't think that i would still be losing weight 3 months

later. I hope that everyone is having a better day than me.

Thanks for all your support.

Thank You

Lawlor

you need to get in touch with Sutherland and let him know of

this weight loss. 30 pounds is way too much for anybody to loose.

Also I dont remember which enzyme you are on, I think you said

viokase. I am on creon and have not had any trouble with weight

loss. I remember when I first started on the creon I had stomach

pains and was very gassy. I got some GasX and keep it with me

always. Gas is horriblely painful.

Anyway, I remember tellin gmy doc I didn't think the creon was

working too well and he said that people had more success with an

enzyme called Elastase or something along those lines. I have been

having stomach trouble myself the last few weeks and have considered

switching enzymes as well. I dont know if one builds a tolerance to

them or not. If the enzyme is not working for you, then get a

different one.

Have you tried eating small frequent healthy snacks? I know thats

hard to do when you are a full time student. But maybe grabbing some

fruit between classes and a half of sandwich here and there would be

easier on your still healing body. Make sure you still take the

enzyme with the snacks. Also are you taking Miralax? it would help

a lot with keeping your BM's regular.

Please keep in mind that it takes a long time to recover from this

surgery. I was told it would/could take up to a year. I am 10

months post tp-ict and I am still having problems. As a matter of

fact I have been really sick these last few weeks and the doc emailed

me this evening wanting to see me first thing in the morning. I hate

early morning stuff and he knows I make my appts for the end of the

day. That doesn't really give me a 'warm fuzzy' if you know what I

mean.

I really think you should give Sutherland a call and let him know

what is going on. I am sure he would want to know.

Hope you feel better soon and do try some different enzymes.

You need to contact your doctor. Did you leave MN with antibiotics? Have you

been taking antibiotics lately? From all of the antibiotics I developed c.

something or other, an infection in my intestines that caused me not to be

able to eat very much. Also, I would have to go to the bathroom right after

eating. After the doc put me on a drug called flagyl I was feeling a ton

better. The diarrhea then went away, and I could eat more.
