BTVC has some candy recipes. You can make candy with honey to substitute for the commercial candy. Guest guest
For Halloween we drop a little envelope with a small dollar store toy, (we usualy buy the six for $1 packets used for party bags like spinning tops, small yo yos, toy cars) in the each of the neighbours mailbox the day before halloween. We leave a note explaining to them that the boys have allergies and would they mind giving them the small toy instead. Some houses we give them our homemade candy to hand to our boys and other houses we give them money to hand to our little boys. We know most of the neighbours but for the few we dont we let them know that we are the twin boys from down the street and let them know what we will be wearing. For our older boys, we host a halloween party for their friends with lots of games and money prizes. Last year they collected food for the local food bank on halloween night. But they are older and understand better than my little ones. I Halloween > dresses up and goes house to house collecting for UNICEF. We have > to explain at every door.
