Guest guest
Hi, Jeanne, There is no substitute for the nut flour early in the diet. Coconut flour is very, very advanced. Many are doing this diet without nuts. Look for recipes that don't contain nuts on pecanbread.com and the other recipe sources. What kinds of things do you want to make? Maybe we can come up with a substitute, but baked goods are difficult. Amazingly you can make some pancakes and cupcakes/muffins with chicken! Look for them on pecanbread.com. You can also join and ask for advice at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/scdrecipe_creators/ There is a bread that can be used early in the diet does not contain nuts. It is primarily made of eggs. Look for " Nut free Dairy Free Bread " in the files section here: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/pecanbread/files/ mom to -12 SCD 4/23/

Guest guest
Just curious if you have tried making " flour " out of dried coconut flakes or from sunflower or pumpkin seeds? - SCD since april 2007
Guest guest
Coconut flour is extremely advanced because it is so fibrous. Seed flours are listed as illegal on the BTVC website. Seed themselves are legal after 3 months of no symptoms, but Elaine said that she had a sprinkling of seeds in mind. The quantity you would use as flour would have way too much fiber and cyanide. mom to -12 SCD 4/23/
