Guest guest
Nut butters are listed on stage 2 of the food list, but what kinds of nut butters are legal? The only legal butter I've found has been peanut butter and we are too early in the diet to use peanut butter. Is there a recipe for nut butters? Or where are you buying your nut butters? Thanks, Janelle
Guest guest
Hi, Janelle, I make my own nut butters in my food processor because the ones in the store are expensive, in my opinion. If the nuts are too hard to grind (mixture is too dry) add a little bit of oil to get it smooth. Although I don't buy them, I have seen almond butter, macadamia nut butter, and cashew butter at my local supermarket as well as at Wild Oats and the health food store. mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
Guest guest
I forgot to answer one of your questions. If a nut is legal, then the nut butter is legal, assuming it doesn't have added illegals. Cashews are more starchy and should be tried a little later. Chestnuts are the only tree nut I can think of that is illegal. mom to -12 SCd 4/23/
