Introduction & Question

Hi to all,

My name is Christy & our 4.3 y/o son has autism & has been GFCF for 13

months now. While he has made progress (eye contact, following

commands, imitating & regained the few words he had lost), he still has

gut trouble. I first joined this group a year ago right after

beginning GFCF but was so overwhelmed & just wanted to give the GFCF

diet a fair chance - but after 13 months, it is time to move forward to

SCD (now I am kicking myself, wishing we hadn't stuck with the GFCF

diet for so long...). The final straw was attending a Mini-DAN!

conference in LR, AR, where I felt as if they were describing my son's

issues to a " T " . So here we are & starting today! As of 10am, the war

was on....he is desparate for his GFCF pancakes or muffin when he

wouldn't touch his SCD intro breakfast of scrambled eggs & homemade

gelatin. The chicken soup has been simmering since this morning but I

do have a question...the recipe says to strain the soup, puree only the

carrots & return to broth, but what about the chicken? Can I debone &

chop & return to the broth?

Thanks! (and thanks to the kind Doctor/Mom from Greenville, Tx who

attended the Mini-DAN & was so encouraging about this diet! I am sorry

that I didn't get your name)

Christy

Hi, Christy,

Yes, you can debone and chop the chicken and add it back to the broth

or serve it separately. Pureed the carrots but throw out any other

vegetables, such as onion.
