Guest guest
is having grand mals again. The seizures went away while on the intro. I cut back on the carrots though because of loose stools. Then he gets constipated. I am trying to find a balance so he won't be constipated and not have loose stools. These are the foods I am wondering about that could be possibly causing the seizures/poor digestion. Acorn squash, baked about 2 hours, honey, not too much though, bananas, cooked apples or grape juice. I don't want to take all of it out, but I will if I have to. Also, an allergist said it takes 3-4 days for a food to clear from the system. Do you agree with that. I don't think it is the increase in yogurt cuz I increased it too quickly before, and he was freaking out and angry, not seizing. The problem with going back to the intro is he cannot have the beef or eggs. He is on DMG, multi vitamin, probiotic, boulardii, enzymes and about 2 Tablespoons goat yogurt 2 times a day. Thank you jo Mom to age 9 Autism/seizures/allergies/mcs

I cut back on the carrots though because of loose stools. > Then he gets constipated.>> Were the carrots cooked 4 hours and then pureed? Did he have loose stools before starting SCD? <<These are the foods I am > wondering about that could be possibly causing the seizures/poor > digestion. I don't want to take > all of it out, but I will if I have to.>> Did you start all of these foods at the same time? It may be the banana or the honey or the acorn but it is hard to know. It may be a combo of things. By that I mean if he is getting a lot more legal carbs it may be too much at one meal for him to digest. Some have to split up the legal juices, ripe banana etc.. over the day instead of all at once - especially at the beginning while in the early stages of healing.. <<Also, an allergist said it> takes 3-4 days for a food to clear from the system. YES, SOME ARE RECENT AND OR INCREASES. I THINK I WILL FEED HIM CARROTS, CHICKEN AND BROTH, AND FISH FOR 2 OR 3 DAYS AND LEAVE HIS YOGURT AND SUPPLEMENTS AS IS. WHEN HIS SEIZURES STOP I WILL ADD THINGS BACK BUT NOT GIVE IT TO HIM ALL DAY LIKE I WAS. I DIDN'T REALIZE TOO MANY CARBS AT ONE MEAL THIS EARLY COULD BE A PROBLEM. DO THE VEGETABLES HAVE TO BE PUREED OR IS SMASHED GOOD ENOUGH? HOW DOES MY PLAN SOUND? > THANKS MARYJO > > > > > Thank you > > > > jo > > Mom to age 9 > > Autism/seizures/allergies/mcs>> > > Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs > mom of and >

HE HAS BEEN EITHER> CONSTIPATED OR HAS HAD LOOSE STOOLS SINCE STARTING SCD. It is common that stools go back and forth between constipation and diarhhea at the beginning of the diet while the bowel is healing. <<> <<These are the foods I am > > > wondering about that could be possibly causing the seizures/poor > > > digestion. Did you notice if the grand mals returned after any of these introductions or increases? Increased die off may have triggered a return to seizures. Have you been using epsom salt baths - many find them helpful to reduce the detox effect on the body. > > I THINK I WILL FEED HIM CARROTS, CHICKEN AND BROTH, AND FISH FOR 2 OR > 3 DAYS AND LEAVE HIS YOGURT AND SUPPLEMENTS AS IS. You can try it to see if that helps with his stools. Sheila, SCD Feb. 2001, UC 23yrs, PCOD 22yrs mom of and
