hi,everyone,

can someone please explain to me exactly what a pain

managment doctor is?what do they do for pancreatitis patients? the

reason i'm asking is after trying to get a refill on my pain meds my

g.i. dr. refused, saying he did'nt feel comfortable giving me more.

that i needed to either get more from my pcp or have them refeer me

to a pain managment dr.now,i have only taken 55 pills in the last 60

days.most days i take 1 mid-afternoon and another before i go to

bed.some days i dont take any and other days 1 every 4-6 hrs as

prescribed if the pain is really bad.other times even though i'm

having pain i don't take them for fear of running out and not having

any on hand during a bad flare-up.my g.i. said he thinks i'm taking

an awful lot!!i explained that while my pain was not everyday back

when i came to see him,it is now getting more frequent, almost

daily, and definitly everytime i eat.sometimes i dont eat because im

afraid of making my pancreas act up.i thought he acted kinda crappy

towards me,even though i've only been to see him one time.so

folks, how long after you were diagnosid did you have to see a pain

managment dr.?i was just diagnosid in mar.and started on narcotics 2

months ago.(july 8) am i using to much?i'm so frustrated at this

point,i don'nt know what i should do or should have been

doing..thanks for any advice and i hope everyone is doing well....

cindy

p.s. sorry for any misspelled words!!!
