Guest guest
HI all I haven't posted before. I would like to say how grateful I am for these daily, regular emails as it is a wonderful lifeline during a very challenging time! We just started SCD in June 07 and my daughter Sienna went through a hideous die-off period for two months. At least I know SCD was working because her reaction was so intense and dramatic! She has made great improvements in speech and imaginative play in Aug and Sept which I put down to her gut healing and SCD so we are delighted. We have a long way to go of course and she's still on a very very restricted Stage 1 diet but we're going slowly, slowly to get it right for her. Now, my question today is about THREELAC, the supplement raved about by McCarthy. I took this info about it from Kirkman's website but I assume this supplement is illegal for SCD??? Because of the lemon flavoring??? Is that right? What is unique about THREELAC THREELAC is a blend of one lactic acid bacteria and two soil based bacteria which reduce fungal and yeast organisms. The powder is microencapsulated (enteric coated) which delivers the organisms live into the intestine in large numbers. The main strain of the bacteria is Enterococcus faecalis which supports the other two strains, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus coagularis in the Candida and fungal fighting properties. THREELAC has been sold in Japan since 1992 and has been imported to the US since 2004. It is now sold all over the world with remarkable results for many. What other ingredients are present in THREELAC? THREELAC is dairy (casein 12 ppm), wheat, corn, soy and gluten free. Since the three strains present in THREELAC feed on yeast, a small amount of refined brewers yeast is present to keep the bacteria alive. The product also contains FOS, galactomannan (a fiber source), lemon juice powder, and canola oil. Small amounts of vitamin C, vitamin B-6, thiamine and riboflavin are also present because they are inherent in the brewers yeast. Best wishes, Simone Mum to Sienna, age 4yrs (ASD - SCD since June 07) London, UK
Guest guest
This supplement is scd illegal because we were taking it before we started and I checked into it and the fructo-oligosacharides are illegal. I was kinda bummed out but we stopped it because from what I have read this is a definite no-no. --- Simone Lanham | Incognito Artists wrote: > HI all > I haven't posted before. Guest guest
Hi there...I'm new to this site. and new to fighting yeast. so new that I haven't actually started yet But, I have also researched ThreeLac. It sounds great, but I did come across some info that has deterred me from trying it. When examining different reviews and opinions of ThreeLac, I came across this one, ThreeLac Review, The Clinically Proven Yeast Eating Probiotic, Or Not? At the bottom, the reviewer discusses that one of the strains of bacteria used in the supplement, Enterococcus faecalis, can develop antibiotic resistance. He states that it has been banned in Australia and that the New England Journal of Medicine describes E. faecalis as " one of the most troubling hospital pathogens " . I have no idea if this info is true or not, but I had decided to put ThreeLac on the back-burner until I could talk to my son's DAN! doctor about it. Like I said, I'm not expert, but I just wanted you to have that info, too! Best of Luck! Kari --------------------------------- Don't let your dream ride pass you by. Make it a reality with Yahoo!
