Guest guest
HI Everyone, I just found out my Amalayse and Lipase are up again. My lipase is 259 (normal 59) and amalayse is 129 (normal 99). IS this very high? Has anyone ever tried Prednisone to decrease the imflamation in the pancrease? My doctor is trying it. We'll see if it works. I've been on liquids and slim fast to rest the pancrease and gained 10 lbs. How is that possible? Fron what I'm reading here, should I be on clear liquids? If so, I'd be on them forever. Regular liquid is hard enough. I know it's time for surgery, I just haven't found the right doctor. I've already had 6 ERCP's at IU and they just don't help anymore. I'm so thankful for this site, it has helped so much. I just needed to talk. Thanks, Kim

Guest guest
Kim, I am sorry for all you have been going through. My lipase has been staying around 450-500 in the last few months. The docs say that is not too high. I didn't have any elevations for so long though that I am surprised it is going up. I guess I can thank the surgery I had for the rise. He opened up the ducts and they are sure nuff flowing that stuff out now! I hope you feel better! Guest guest
Kim, They tried prednisone for my cp before my tp/ict. I had autoimmune pancreatitis. Prednisone should have helped, and I think it did with the pancreatitis, however the side effects at the doses to keep the pancreatitis under control was not worth it. Crystal Galloway P.S. I would do my TP/ICT all over again. Dr. Sutherland was a life saver for me.
