Guest guest
Shybasset, It's difficult to comment with any degree of certainty about your symptoms, since all of the conditions you've already listed; ulcer, gerd, pancreatitis, prostrate area pain, kidney pain, etc., deal with pain. There is a possibility that it could be pancreatitis, and it's possible that the CT-scan would show this, but even this procedure has been known to be incorrect. Although your weight loss and malbsorption are symptoms of pancreatitis, they could still be the result of side effects from one of the other conditions. Your blood tests were all normal, further frustrating a diagnostician. Without more positive results from diagnostic testing, it's difficult to determine exactly what's wrong. Hopefully your CT-scan will show something. Please be aware, though, that sometimes CT-scans don't show any pancreatic problems, even when the condition already exists. Other diagnostic tests that could be done to confirm pancreatitis would be an MRI, MRCP or ERCP. A fecal fat test would only confirm the malabsorption. A high level of triglycerides shown in a triglyceride blood test would also be an indicator of pancreatitis. Sorry that there isn't more that could give you any positive answers. I'm sure you're anxious to see the results of your CT-scan, as are we. Having to wait all weekend for an answer is probably the worst! If the doctors can't find anything, be firm in your resolve to keep looking, and make sure that you convey this to the physicians involved in your case. You need to keep searching to find the answers, and often times it's a long search. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do, and please let us know about the results of your scan when you find out. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
