Just wanted to say hi and let everybody know I have been in the

hospital again for almost two weeks. I went in August 27 and got

out on September 1 and then wound up back in September 3 and got out

this evening about 5. I too tired to go into all the horrors of it

tonight but parts of it were a pure nightmare.

Funny thing is, only my back hurt a little but I ahd that " I just

don't feel good " feeling. They put me in the hospital the first

time, started me on clear liquids which was stupid. They should

have had me NPO. Enzymnes went down and I went home then started

hurting again. Went in with lipase of 178 which in two days wound

up to be almost 1100! Didn't have any more pain that at the

beginning though. I have done this before too. I almost didn't get

out today because my lipase jumped a little and so are my liver

enzymes. My doctor is going to get me an appointment with Dr.

Cotton in ton quickly as possible.

I am not convinced this is bile duct though. I had been taking

Aleve knowing I shouldn't but I had problems with my shoulder and

would take it. I am thinking that started it up. But, the bile

duct could be tight again too as this all feels like wehn I first

got sick in 1997. My enzymes were horrendous but the pain wasn't

that bad. Only later did I start having those really painful

attacks.

My back is hurting tonight and I feel like crap. My doc never did

call in the GI doc (which was fine with me as he is an idiot) but I

had to inform him today that liver enzymes to rise with pancreatitis.

I also wound up with a staph urinary tract infection, then a rash

reaction from the antibiotic Keflex, an allergic reaction to the

Lovenox, my belly looks like raw hamburger and God knows what else!

Just thought I would let you all know. I have got to catch up with

these messages but it is going to take me awhile. This has taken

alot out of me. The Benadryl for the antibiotic reaction and the

Vicodin are making me sleepy and usually they " wack me out " . I am

gonna go to bed.

Take care all and keep me in your prayesr as you aer in mine.

Kaye, my goodness I am so sorry that you have been so sick. I wish I

had known. I dont think I could have driven up to Asheville but I

certainly could have called on you. I do hope you feel better soon.

I am so glad that you are in such good touch with your own body and

knew that something was wrong. I am also so glad that your doc

respected that in you. That is a very important combo, I am also

lucky to have that with my doc. he knows if I say soemthing is wrong

then it is.

Please please please let me know when you go to see Cotton and I will

make sure to come to Chas to see you. He is such a wonderful person

and I know he will see you as soon as he is able. However, we are

battening down the hatches at the moment for a little ole hurricane.

I dont think it will be anything catastophic, hope really, but the

lowcountry rolls up the sidewalks and boards up every window at the

mere mention of a hurricane watch. They say it will be here late

monday early tuesday. We have had a lot of near misses the last few

years but this area was completely wiped off the map after Hugo.

Keep your fingers crossed for us and I will come to MUSC when you go,

I will be your personal nurse, well at least until the paid nurse

kicks me out....LOL. Besides I would absolutely love to see you

again. Email me your number at cdrrn@... and I will email you

back with mine.

Feel better soon

Warmly,

Kaye,

I'm so sorry to hear that you were in hospital again. I know how much

you hate that place, and that every time you go there something else

always seems to go wrong. I wish you'd given me a call so I could

have kept up with how you were doing, but at least now you're home and

hopefully on the mend.

One good thing to come out of this will be your trip down to

ton to see Dr. Cotton. He'll have you back on track in no

time, I hope. Let me know when you'll be coming to town so I can get

up there to see you, okay?

No doubt you've got a collection of stories to tell after this visit,

it seems something ridiculous always happens while you're there. When

you're feeling better, you'll have to tell us all about it.

Meanwhile, rest while you can, and enjoy the peace and quiet of home.

With love, hope and prayers,

Heidi

Thanks Heidi. I was feeling so bad, I didn't even want to talk to

anybody. I don't know how long it is going to take to et an

appointment at MUSC. I will let you all know though.

Thanks
