Guest guest
Pete, Welcome to the group. It's unbelievable that the SSDI hearing didn't work for you, but since I just went through two years of aggravation trying to get my disability, and ten tons of paperwork, I know what a struggle it can be. Mine was finally awarded at the hearing stage, actually three days before the hearing took place, so I never did have to go to court, but it was a hassle just the same. Did you have an attorney? After my first application was turned down, I did hire a disability attorney from Washington, DC, who specializes in SSDI cases only, and feel that he did help in the long run. All I can advise with this is too keep appealing, and to get all the paperwork from every doctor's visit, lab test, hospital stay, PM doctor's appt's, radiology reports, etc. etc - every piece of paper that has your name on it in regard to your medical history, and make sure that you keep a copy and that a copy of each and every bit of material gets onto the desk of the case worker assigned to your case. Don't give up on this, that's exactly what they want you to do, and it's their job to try to find reasons why you ARE NOT eligible. The judge who approved my disability even admitted this in his closing letter to me, that he had " failed " , because he couldn't find reason to DENY my disability claims! Other than that, please feel free to join in our conversations, comments and questions here on the message board. We'd love to know more about you and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. With love, hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Hey Pete, Welcome to our lil' group! I'm so sorry you hear about your SSI drama. I have just a small bit of advice...just DON'T give up! Keep after them! I went through the same stuff here in Ohio.....and finally I got it. It took over 2 1/2 yrs, but they did give me back pay from the time I had to quit working, and that helped, while it lasted anyways. So, what I'm saying is.....DON'T give up! Let me know how it goes. What test are they making you do in Gainesville? Wow! You are tall & very lean, huh? Interesting.....lol....just kidding! Gosh! Hang in there kid! And keep us posted on your progress! Lots of Hugs, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --<Pete...> wrote: Hi all!
